 Cykl koncertów klubowych ERA JAZZU oparty jest na pomyśle "festiwalu wędrującego", a więc prezentacji jazzu w wielu miejscach; raz jest to Blue Note, raz, jak to z pewnością wydarzy się w czasie festiwalu, prestiżowa sala koncertowa. Pragniemy pokazać jazz w różnych miejscach Poznania, uaktywnić i uatrakcyjnić niektóre lokale - by niebawem muzyka jazzowa bardzo mocno wtopiła się w krajobraz kulturalny naszego miasta.
Przez ostatnie lata na poznańskich estradach pojawiali się najwybitniejsi twórcy jazzu:
Wynton Marsalis, Lester Bowie, Bill Evans, Art Ensemble Of Chicago, Toots Thielemans, Wayne Shorter, Jan Garbarek, Charlie Byrd, Barbara Thompson, John Scofield, Randy Brecker, Art Farmer, Al Di Meola, Joe Zawinul, Astrud Gilberto, Wallace Roney, David Friesen, Lenny White, Ernie Watts, Larry Coryell, Debbie Harry & Jazz Passengers, Ahmad Jamal, Kenny Garrett, World Saxophone Quartet, Courtney Pine, Billy Harper, Bob Berg, Pharoah Sanders, Dieder Lockwood, Oregon, Stephane Grappelli, Dave Brubeck, Kenny Barron, Charlie Haden oraz czołówka europejskiego i polskiego jazzu.
Zaledwie w ciągu kilku tych lat Poznań z jazzowego zaścianka stał się ważnym centrum tej muzyki, i to nie tylko w skali ogólnopolskiej, ale także europejskiej. To już nie epizodyczne koncerty, ale szereg stałych działań jazzowych, które wyznaczają rytm miasta i środowiska muzycznego.
Over the last few years Poznań had a chance to witness numerous concerts of the most outstanding jazz musicians: from Wynton Marsalis and Wayne Shorter to Jan Garbarek and top jazz musicians from Poland and various European countries.
"Only a few years have sufficed to transform Poznan from a jazz backwater into an important centre of European jazz - says Dionizy Piątkowski, an initiator of the ERA JAZZU concerts and festival - We are not talking about occasional performances, but a whole series of well-grounded undertakings in the real of jazz due to which the musical millie in the city has been gaing momentum. Therefore, I have decided to expand this formula by staging a permanent concert series called ERA JAZZU featuring preminent jazz musicians. The serie is to be rounded off by a festival ERA JAZZU and several Gala Concerts. The formula of concerts staged both in clubs and concert halls is aimed at ensuring an everlasting presence of jazz on the stages of Poland"
The ERA JAZZU series was initiated by a club concerts of Paul Motian, Mike Westbrook Band, Jamalaadeen Tacuma , John Abercrombie, Steve Lacy, James Blood Ulmer, Lee Konitz just a mention a few. But the serie is fine promoting by the galas with The Kronos Quartet , Oregon, Abbey Lincoln, Gato Barbieri, Al. Di Meola, Dino Saluzzi, Gato Barbieri, Abbey Lincoln, Lee Konitz, Archie Shepp as well Jan Garbarek & The Hilliard Ensemble huge "Officium & Mnemosyne" tour. After years of regulary basis concerts ERA JAZZU proclaims such the most important and prestige jazz project in Poland. "Jazz Forum" the leading european jazz magazine provides ERA JAZZU such the top and most creating jazz event in Poland.
